CFAO announces three executive committee appointments

Élé Asu has been appointed Vice President of Group Communications, and
Jean-Christophe Brindeau has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of CFAO Retail.
Mr Koji Minami, 49, was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer and CFAO Board Member on 1 January 2018. Mr Minami worked for 26 years at Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) in Japan, China and Malaysia, mainly in the Automotive Division. In his previous assignment, he led the Next Mobility Development department at TTC. He succeeds Mr Toshimitsu Imai, who joined the Group in March 2013 to further the collaboration between CFAO and its new shareholder TTC. Mr Imai now partakes in the General Management for Africa at Toyota Motors Corporation (TMC).
Ms Élé Asu, 40, was appointed Vice President of Group Communications on 4 January 2018. A dual citizen of France and Nigeria, Ms Asu is a graduate of Sciences Po Strasbourg. She has lived and worked in France, East Africa and Central Africa, including responsibilities as a publication officer, event manager and communications consultant for major corporations and institutions. From 2006 to 2017, she also worked as a news anchor and business reporter on French television, notably hosting “Réussite” a program dedicated to African economics on Canal+ Afrique. She succeeds Ms Françoise Remarck-Le Guennou.
Mr Jean-Christophe Brindeau, 55, was appointed Chief Executive Officer of CFAO Retail on 8 January 2018. Mr Brindeau previously served as the Chief Operating Officer at Ho Hio Hen, a major distributor in the French West Indies and in French Guyana. Mr Brindeau also held several positions at the food retailer group Casino from 1992 to 2016 in France, South America and the Indian Ocean where he became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vindémia, the region’s leading distributor (4,200 employees and 135 retail outlets) from 2012 to 2015. He succeeds Mr Xavier Desjobert.
Ms Asu, Mr Minami and Mr Brindeau join the CFAO Executive Committee.
